The Bishkek Mob Attack: A Crisis for Pakistani Students

 Islamabad, Pakistan Over 300 Pakistani students have returned home from Kyrgyzstan following the violence that saw a mob attack hostels of foreign students, leaving some of them injured in the capital city of Bishkek. The Incident of Kyrgyzstan The violence erupted late on May 17 and lasted for over six hours, as hundreds of Kyrgyz people targeted hostels of international students, resulting in more than 30 injuries. During a news conference on Sunday, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar assured that the situation was under control. He confirmed that "four or five" Pakistani students were injured but refuted online rumors of any deaths. Despite these assurances, Dar acknowledged the concerns of the more than 11,000 Pakistani students in Kyrgyzstan and their families. PIA Launches Faisalabad-Karachi Flights Starting June 9

  FAISALABAD: On June 9, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the country's flag airline, will begin conducting domestic flights between Faisalabad and Karachi. PIA General Manager Shafique Ahmad announced that the airline will operate four weekly flights from Faisalabad to Karachi during a special function to be held in 2023–24. The event was intended to reward the top travel agents with awards and souvenirs for selling the most PIA tickets.  He underlined the role of travel agents in making any airlines successful and said that the PIA had decided to restart domestic flights from Faisalabad in addition to resuming Faisalabad-Jeddah and Faisalabad-Medina flights. PIA Offers 20% Discount for Students Traveling from China to Pakistan

  May 23, Beijing (APP): For students from Pakistan who are flying from China to Pakistan, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is offering a 20 per cent discount. Additionally, the national flag carrier has raised the baggage allowance to 60 kilograms, an airline official told APP here on Thursday. Currently, PIA flies one flight per week on Sundays between Islamabad and Beijing. Students who wish to visit their home country after receiving their degrees or who intend to visit Pakistan over the summer may be eligible for the discount. They may benefit from a fare reduction as well as an increase in baggage allowance, so the PIA discount would be really helpful. On Eid ul Fitr, the national airline was also reduced the cost of domestic flights by 20% for both economy and executive economy classes.
