Hajj Flights Schedule 2024

 



Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam ,obligatory for every able-boiled and financially capable Muslim to undertake at least once in their lifetime. It takes place in the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hajjah and involves a series of rituals performed in and around the city of Mecca ,Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia held downsized hajj in the last three years due to restrictions imposed to the stem the outbreak of covid-19.In 2022,over 899,999 Muslims pilgrims visited Saudi Arabia to perform the hajj pilgrimage, according to official figures. In 2021,the kingdome welcomed up to 60,000 pilgrims from inside Saudi Arabia amid COVID-19 restrictions, while only 10,000 performed the ritual in 2020.

Hajj Flights from Pakistan

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in Saudi Arabia has released the flight schedule for Hajj 2024.

·         Commencement:

                                  From May 9,2024 to June 10, 2024.

·         Return:

                 Return flights will begin from June 20,2024 to July 21, 2024.

·        Costs of Hajj:

The Pakistan Ministry for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony substantially reduced the cost of Hajj. The expenses for pilgrimage including airfare, transportation in Saudi Arabia, accommodation and meals were decreased from USD 5,000 to USD 3,900. The Ministry stated that the excess amount would be reimbursed to the pilgrims, enabling them to save additional funds during their sacred trip to the holy land.

Airports Picked for Hajj operation 2024:

The Hajj flights will operated from  Islamabad,  Lahore,    Karachi,  Multan, Quetta, Sukkur, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan.   Pilgrims from Peshawar will depart from Islamabad airport.

Pilgrims Faisalabad will depart from Lahore airport

·        Road to Makkah Service:      

                      The road to Makkah service will be available at Karachi and Islamabad airports under which pilgrims immigration will take place in Pakistan.

Airlines for Hajj Operation 2024:                                           

Four airlines, including Saudi Airlines , PIA, Serene Air and Air Blue will participate in the hajj flight operation.

·        Vaccination Process for Hajj Pilgrims:

        According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the vaccination process Hajj pilgrims will begin at 10 Hajji camps from April 30.Under the government Hajj Scheme, a total of 69,500 pilgrims will perform Hajj this year.

·        Hajj schedule and ticket price:

       Although the flight schedule and ticket prices for Hajj 2024 from Pakistan have not yet been explicitly announced, the previous year’s flight schedule and ticket price will help in estimating the same for Hajj 2024 from Pakistan.

        Further details regarding Pakistan Hajj flights will be announced after the hajj registration. The pilgrims who apply for the regular Hajj scheme will depart earlier, while those who apply for the short Hajj scheme will depart 15 days after the regular scheme. This section will be updated once the detailed information for the flight schedule has emerged.

·        PIA (Pakistan International Airline):

The previous year, according to the notice, Pakistan International Airline (PIA), the country’s flag airline, started pre-Hajj services on 21 May and continued until 12 August. The national flag airline billed private Hajj pilgrims in US dollars for the first time in history. For private Hajj pilgrims, PIA fixed a price of USD 1,180.

According to PIA, the airfares for the pilgrims from the southern regions were likely to stay between USD 870 to USD 1,180, while for the northern regions, the range was expected to be between USD 910 to USD 1.220. Pilgrims in the executive economy class were permitted to bring 40kg of checked bags and seven kilograms of hand luggage. Additionally, pilgrims travelling in economy class were allowed to bring seven kilograms of hand luggage.
